Cedar Catholic celebrates Homecoming Week
HARTINGTON — Cedar Catholic High School students are in the midst of Homecoming Week.
The students are celebrating the week with special dress-up days and special activities. Some of the C Club members are also taking time out during the week to read books to the elementary kids at Holy Trinity and East & West Catholic.
Tuesday was “Anything But a Bookbag Day.” Class competitions were then held in the afternoon.
Wednesday’s theme is Twin Day. On Thursday, the students get to show off their redneck side for Redneck Day.
Friday is the traditional school spirit or Red and White Day. Students will decorate floats on Friday. A special Mass will also take place at 1:15 p.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Church for Cedar Catholic, Holy Trinity and East & West Catholic students. That will be followed by a parade through downtown Hartington around 2:15 p.m. with a pep rally to follow at the Msgr. Werner Activity Center.
Cedar Catholic will host West Holt at 6:30 p.m. in the Homecoming football game. The Ford truck will also be raffled off during the game.
Coronation of the King and Queen will take place at 10 p.m. Friday with the dance to follow.
Members of the Royal Court include: Future Royalty Blakely Marsh, daughter of Ryan and Megan Marsh; Ramsey Heine, son of Scott and Jenny Heine; and Jamison Noecker, son of Steve and Karen Noecker.
Queen Candidates Jozie Becker, daughter of Darin and Angie Becker; Laney Kathol, daughter of Matt and Susan Kathol; and Makenna Noecker, daughter of Brian and Dawn Noecker.
King Candidates Jaxson Bernecker, son of Jay and Miranda Bernecker; Owen Dendinger, son of Kurt and Shanna Dendinger; and Jay Steffen, son of Matt and Brenda Steffen.
Master and Mistress of Ceremonies Abbey Klug, daughter of Myron and Heather Klug; Isaac Kuehn, son of Mark and Denise Kuehn.
