Cecil Charles Hintz

BELDEN — Cecil Charles Hintz, 50, Belden, died March 1, 2022, at his residence surrounded by family, after a battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Life service was March 5 at the Belden Library. Burial of his cremated remains will be at the Belden cemetery at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.

Cecil Charles was born June 1, 1971, in Scott City, Kan., to Kenneth Earl and Juanita Eileen Mae (Phillips) Hintz. He grew up in Scott City, Kan., and lived there until 1988, when he moved to Belden. Cecil moved to Belden in 1988, and then returned to Scott City. He worked as an independent contractor and worked for 25 years as a flooring installer. Cecil lived in several other cities before moving to Norfolk and then back to Belden in January 2021. Cecil is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Cheri Hintz, Belden;

He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Phillips Carpenter; both sets of grandparents, Cecil (Mabel) Phillips and Charles (Lois) Hintz; step grandparents, Kermit (Lois) Graf; three uncles, Chuck, Leroy and Butch Hintz; step uncle, Terry Graf; two cousins, David Grund and Brandon Phillips; fiance, Shari Long; friends, Jimmy Wessel and Todd MacDonnell.
