Bernard P. Hoesing
NEWCASTLE — Bernard P. Hoesing, 63, Newcastle, died from a farm accident near Newcastle, June 6, 2021.
Private Family services were held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Newcastle, with the Rev. Andy Sohm officiating.
Burial was at Calvary Cemetery, Newcastle.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.
Pallbearers were Melinda Burbach, Jeff Burbach, Audrey Kyncl, Andrew Hoesing, Matthew Hoesing, Dwight Wudel, Rod Hoesing and Clair Hoesing.
Bernard Phillip was born Aug. 26, 1957, in Newcastle, to Fintan and Mary Jane (Schulte) Hoesing. He grew up in Newcastle and graduated from Newcastle High School in 1976. Bernard began farming after high school with his dad and has continued to farm his entire life. Bernard got his pilot’s license, and flying airplanes turned into a hobby for him. He was a good mechanic and could fix almost anything whether it was farm equipment and machinery, trucks or cars.
Bernard was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
Bernard is survived by his parents, Fintan and Mary Jane Hoesing, Newcastle; six siblings, Leonard Hoesing, Newcastle; Larry Hoesing, Creighton; Donna Hoesing, Yankton, S.D.; Arthur (Julie) Hoesing, Yankton, S.D.; Alfred (Monica) Hoesing, Maskell; and Elmer (Jane) Hoesing, Coleridge; many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his nephew, Jerome Hoesing.
