PLAINVIEW — Benjamin Thomas Sauser, 3, died peacefully in his parents’ arms Feb. 14, 2018, at Children’s Hospital, Omaha. A visitation was Feb. 18, at St. Ludger’s Catholic Church, Creighton. Funeral services were Feb. 19 at St. Ludger’s Catholic Church, Creighton. Ben was buried in the St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery, Plainview. Ben was born April 15, 2014, in Omaha, to parents Tom and Jessica Sauser, Plainview, with a heart defect known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Due to his illness, he received a heart transplant June 7, 2015. Though he spent one third of his life at Children’s Hospital, he was a happy boy with an infectious smile who loved the farm, anything with wheels, and chips. Ben is survived by his parents; soon to arrive baby sister; his grandparents, Daryl and Jackie Hitz, and Mike and Julie Sauser; his great-grandparents, Janie Johnson and Carol Helsing; aunts and uncles, Justin and Kasi Foss, Vanessa Hitz, Dalson Hitz, Emma Sauser, and Dillan and Michelle Zuhlke; and cousins, Dan, Joe and Abby Zuhlke. He is preceded in death by great-grandparents; Herbert and Garnet Hitz, Harlan Johnson, Leonard and Thelma Sauser, and Merlin Helsing.
