Becker files as lone Mayoral candidate

HARTINGTON — Mark Becker could be the next Hartington City Mayor.

Becker was the only candidate to file for mayor before the March 1 deadline for non-incumbents to file for office.

Brad Peitz, who will be finishing his second term as the Mayor of Hartington the end of this year, did not file for re-election.

City Councilman Gary Kruse also decided not to seek another term. No one has filed for that seat, though, and the Council may have to appoint someone to the post in December.
