Bears fifth in Mac Invitational at Wayne Country Club

WAYNE - Laurel-Concord-Coleridge played here in the Wayne High Mac Invitational at the Wayne Country Club on May 2 and ended up fifth in a solid field of 14 teams.

Columbus Lakeview won the meet with a 326 as the top three teams were separated by two strokes. Tekamah-Herman was second at 327 and O’Neill was third with a 328.

West Point-Beemer was fourth after carding a 343 followed by the Bears at 359.

Carson Talon shot the low round for the Bears, firing an 86 as the top three Laurel-Concord-Coleridge golfers shot under 90.

Jackson Hall fired an 88, Bradyn Urwiler came in with an 89 and Tanner Thompson carded a 96 to close out the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge scoring. The Bears fifth golfer, Kolten Settje shot a 118.

Tekamah-Herman’s Brody Rogers shot the low round of the day with a 73, five shots in front of Peyton Penrose from West Point-Beemer who was the runner-up.

The Bears were set for the Wakefield Invitational on May 7 back at the Wayne Country Club before heading to the district golf meet in Hartington on May 14.
