Awana finishes up year with awards ceremony

CONCORD — Concord Awana Clubs hosted a year-end celebration and awards ceremony at Evangelical Free Church of Concord on Wednesday, April 24.

Approximately 260 people attended the event with 130 young people recognized for attendance, hard work and accomplishment in Scripture memory and Bible knowledge. Refreshments followed.

Those children recognized for completing handbooks were:

Cubbies (ages three and four):

Appleseed Ribbon Awards — Beasley Bottolfsen, Matthias Hansen, Kena Lammers, Theo Lipp, Kasen Nelson, Ansley Oswald, Brynn Tiahrt, Evan Tiahrt, Huxley Vander Streek.

Sparks (Grades K-2):

Scripture memory award: Pearl Arduser, Sicily Arduser, Simeon Arduser, Naomi Badley, Mila Bloom, Murphee Bottolfsen, Hannah Fuoss, Titus Hansen, Gabriella Hartman, Ada Lipp, Jaelyn Nelson, Marcus Nelson, Graham Patefield, Jacob Tiahrt, Travis Tiahrt.

Truth and Training

Trek (Grades 7-8)

Scripture memory Award of Merit: Emelia Spurling.

Four book Timothy Awards: Ashlynn Dailey, Alyza Leonard.

Six book Meritorious Awards: Madyson Campbell, Leah Gould, Jake Lipp, Weston Patefield.

Journey (high school) participants: Danica Gould, Olivia Hanson, Stella Kock, Grace Junck, Landen Leonard, Abigail Lipp, Rebeka Lipp, Holly Patefield.

The word, Awana, is an acronym for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” based on the Scripture verse, 2 Timothy 2:15. Approximately 140 young people attended Awana Clubs in Concord this past year with approximately 75 teen, college and adult leaders. Clubs are open to all area youth, ages pre-K through high school.
