1974: Tuesday Club, city of Laurel to tackle park project

LAUREL — Dennis Sutton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Sutton, left Sunday with nine other Navy reservists for a training school at the Great Lakes. He is attached with the 9-8 Surface Division Navy reserve unit at Sioux City.

CONCORD — Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Swanson and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Anderson accompanied David Anderson, Regg Swanson, Duane Pearson, Brent and Bruce Johnson, Steve Erwin and Marlin Bose to Hordville Sunday where the boys spent the week at Camp Covenant Cedars.

DIXON — Friday evening the Dixon Boy Scouts and their families met at the Leslie Noe pond for a picnic. In the program that followed the meal, the scouts dedicated their newly acquired boat.
July 4, 1974
LAUREL — Mayor Mert Swanson, Linda Johnson and Cheryl Asbra, along with a signed resolution giving the City of Laurel approval to the Laurel Tuesday Club to proceed with the park project.
A park development project, which will cost an estimated $24,000 is among 38 projects given approval by the Nebraska Game and Parks commission for the next fiscal year.
The projects will have to be okayed by the State Office of Planning and Programing before funding by the Federal Bureau of Outdoor Recreation can be approved.
