COLERIDGE — Fr. Wm. Whelan arrived this past week from Omaha. He will serve as the pastor of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Coleridge, and St. Mary’s Parish, Belden. He will also be the guidance director at Cedar Catholic High School in Hartington.

COLERIDGE — The new scoreboard at the town ballpark was installed this week. It is multi-purpose and can be used for football and baseball.

LINCOLN — Brian Feelhaver will be attending the 12th Annual Junior Lawmen Program sponsored by the American Legion, Department of Nebraska.
It will begin June 4 at the Nebraska State Patrol Training Center in Lincoln.

LAUREL — Bernie Asbra and Kai Thomsen were each winners of $25 of boxed beef for guessing the weight of the live beef on dis play Saturday at the “May Is Beef Month” promotion sponsored by the Cedar County Feeders Association, as well as the L aurel Chamber of Commerce.

NORFOLK — Twenty-four teams will take part in a doubleelimination competition, The Funk Construction Slow-Pitch Softball Tournament, on June 9-10.
The contest will be held at the Ta-Ha-Zouka Softball Complex down in Norfolk.
Trophies will be awarded to the top six teams.
