1958: Hartington Public School plans to start hot lunch program

HARTINGTON — Cicil Andresen, a Hartington farmer, is seeking damages of $5,800 in a lawsuit filed in District Court June 10 as a result of a cartractor accident.
According to the suit, a car operated by Ralph Bruening, Hartington, collided with the side of Andresen’s tractor causing it to break in two and throwing Andresen off of it.

HARTINGTON — Rev. William Fitzgerald, recently ordained to the Catholic priesthood in Omaha, has been assigned to be assistant pastor at Holy Trinity Church in Hartington.

HARTINGTON — Hartington Public School is planning to inaugurate a hot lunch program next fall.
The hot lunch room and kitchen will be located in the basement of the high school building and no classroom space will be lost.

HARTINGTON — Palmer’s Hatchery, Hartington, has recently installed a Nutrena Bulk Feed Service plant.
The Bulkomatic plant is located behind the hatchery. There are two 25,000-pound bins, two 12,000-pound bins and a scale house.

HARTINGTON — Merton Olson, Hartington, was elected state judge advocate at the Nebraska Veterans of Foreign Wars convention in Scottsbluff June 15-17.

HARTINGTON — Rev. Charles Knippen of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Bow Valley, will be honored on June 25 for his 25th anniversary as a priest. A parish dinner was served in Bow Valley Hall starting at noon and a picnic will be held in the afternoon. Knippen was ordained May 25, 1933.

HARTINGTON — Construction of a 47X118 foot building at 106 N. Broadway Street in Hartington began June 13. The building will be used as a warehouse of the Hartington Telephone Co., according to Bill Dendinger, manager.
