HARTINGTON — Hartington boys leaving for Fort Riley and Camp Funston are Ross Conant, Cyril Dendinger, Joseph Silbereisen, Frank Schaffer, Fred Walz, Orville Adams, Glen Austin, James Beal, Ira Dowd, Henry Happe, Albert Hammond, Werner Lee, Alfred Riff, and Frank Tinkcom.

HARTINGTON — Mr. and Mrs. Aphonse Bange have purchased the lease and property of Minor Jurgens, on the farm southeast of town where Minor has resided for the past three years.

HARTINGTON — Ben Ruger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Ruger, Hartington, is a member of the ship Leviathan. The ship is carrying troops to France.

On his last trip across the ocean, the ship was attacked several times by submarines.

HARTINGTON — A tornado swept through Dixon and caused about $10,000 in damage. The most damage was done to M. P. Lund’s store. Part of the side of the store and roof caved in.
